Keep in mind a few things.
I've only been playing for three weeks...
This character is not even a week old.
I have to thank a lot of you actually for some advice. Some I took and some I ignored. For my starter stats I only put my points directly into Minmatar Light Dropsuit Level 1 and Biotic to Level 4 and I think I might raised my shield to level 1 at the time before I got into normal Pub Battles.
Over time I have raised my CPU and PG a little and raised my shield to level 2 and armor to level 1 and I actually put Rail Rifle to level one in case I got bored and wanted to just do Ambush.
Right now my goal is just get Biotics to Level 5 and for awhile I have to admit I was just fooling around in my Starter Kit just pretty much getting ISK in Ambush. I'm honestly not the greatest at aiming with something like a Rail Rifle where I have to line my little dot on the person and shoot. I was doing pretty good though with the rail rifle but for the most part not the best.
When I got back to my light dropsuit after obtaining a few million ISKs, I began using my Light Dropsuit person (soon to be Scout) and I'm impressed that I actually not only got a larger amount of kills, but I feel like I've been playing my character a lot better. I'm not a fool to bring my shotgun light armor into Ambush with a Shotgun, but in Skirmish, I've been doing a great deal of damage.
If you want to know what I've learned through all this as a upcoming Minmatar Scout...
1. Never been seen. 2. If someone is far away from you and they see you, just run.. 3. Don't be out in the fields. 4. Make sure you know how to maneuver in and out of rooms if someone is chasing you. 5. The only type of people you should be killing are people in close range and people that are hacking. 6. If you're going toe to toe with someone make sure there's an object you can run around or hide behind and hide a way to run to the back of someone and shoot them. 7. AIM FOR THE HEAD!
I know they don't seem like much but keep in mind everything else I wrote above. Also, I'm accepting any advice and tips that I may or may not listen to. :)

I always respect Matari scout. Suit takes skill to use.
Word of advice, the bonuses will be changing slightly, as well as the base stats for the suit.
Shouldn't effect your play style radically, but I just wanted to give a heads up.
You mean for 1.8?

I don't know about buffing shotguns... the Militia Shotgun is pretty bad ass and I have NO points in Shotguns.

Oh yeah! That's why I haven't really done anything big with suits. I've just been saving my SP for Biotics Level 5 and then just take care of my core upgrades. Hopefully, there's a respec so that people can be happier. Thank you for the tip man! Btw, do we have a Corp Forum? Because I don't see one here. :/
